Caori FUJITA
人体、主に「背中」をテーマに乾漆技法で制作しています。
人と人との関わりの中で生まれる変化や互いの相違など、私たちは様々な経験を重ねることで、多くのことを実らせ、蓄え、時には失います。そうした曖昧で捉えきれないことを、自身では見ることのできない背中を用いて可視化しようとしています。他者からは見える背中は、無意識のうちに自身では気づかない側面を映し出してしまう箇所ではないでしょうか。

Concept
I create works using the traditional kanshitsu (dry lacquer) technique, primarily focusing on the human body, especially the back.
Through our relationships with others, we experience transformation and difference. By accumulating various experiences, we cultivate and store many things, and at times, we also lose them. I attempt to visualize these ambiguous and intangible aspects by using the back, a part of the body that we ourselves cannot see.
The back, visible to others yet unseen by oneself, may reveal facets of our being that remain unconscious and unnoticed.
