アーティストコメント：
近年の作品群は「絵画」と「ドローイング」の中間くらいのイメージで描いていて、私はこれらの作品を「メンタルスケッチ」と呼んでいます。「メンタルスケッチ」とは宮沢賢治の詩集「春と修羅」の表題作「春と修羅（mental sketch modified）」の副題に使われている言葉から取ったものです。「心象風景」と書き表すと堅すぎる気がして「メンタルスケッチ」とカタカナ語で表記しています。夢で見た風景や、記憶に残っている景色を絵画上で再構成し、人の普遍的な共通意識を刺激するような作品を目指しています。

Artist comment:
« I call these works “mental sketches” because they are somewhere between “paintings” and “drawings. The term “mental sketch” is taken from the subtitle of Kenji Miyazawa's “Haru to Shura (mental sketch modified) ». I feel that the term in japanese kanji “Haru to Shura” is too formal, so I use the phonetic katakana term “mental sketch ». I aim to create works that stimulate people's universal sense of commonality by reconstructing scenes seen in dreams or remembered in memory on paintings. »
