私の使うエンカウスティークは、色を用いず、亜麻布に染み込ませた蜜蝋の濃淡によって描く絵画術で、これはヴェロニカの布(聖顔布)に発想を得た描画法です。そして、これこそがものを写し取る本質に思えるのです。

  • Concept

    The encaustic technique I employ uses no pigment; instead, images are formed through variations in density of beeswax impregnated into linen. This method was inspired by the Veil of Veronica (the Holy Face). To me, it embodies the very essence of what it means to capture and transfer the presence of things.

    In the same year, awarded a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) scholarship and moved to Germany to study at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich (Akademie der Bildenden Künste München), Department of Christian Art

    Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich
    Received the Diplom (M.A.) and was awarded the title of Meisterschüler
