Hibiki ADACHI
主に大理石を素材とした石彫作品を制作している。
大理石は、太古の海洋生物の遺骸が長い時をかけて堆積・変成し、生成された物質である。制作の過程で、化石のような形象が稀に姿を現すことがある。
かつて確かに存在した無数の生命の痕跡を削り、磨くという反復的な行為は、私にとって生命の記憶に接続される時間であり、それらと出会うことは、生と死、現在と過去へ向き合うための儀礼的なアプローチでもある。
死や痕跡を目の前にしたとき、内包された不可視で言語化不可能なエネルギーを、生はどのように受容し、向き合い、浄化することができるのか。
この問いを出発点に、本作品では現代社会における必然的な死のあり方を再考し、失われた存在への畏敬とともに、蓄積された生命の時間と記憶を辿りながら、安息と再生への祈りを彫刻へと昇華している。

Concept
I primarily create stone sculptures using marble as my material.
Marble is a substance formed over vast spans of time through the sedimentation and metamorphosis of the remains of ancient marine organisms. During the process of carving, fossil-like forms occasionally emerge.
The repetitive act of carving and polishing the traces of countless lives that once undeniably existed becomes, for me, a time of connection to the memory of life. Encountering these traces is also a ritualistic approach to confronting life and death, the present and the past.
When faced with death or with remnants of what once existed, how can the living receive, confront, and purify the invisible and ineffable energy contained within them?
Starting from this question, my work reconsiders the inevitability of death in contemporary society. With reverence for lost existences, I trace the accumulated time and memory of life, sublimating prayers for repose and regeneration into sculpture.
