「三浦は、カンヴァスなどの支持体に直線を描き重ねていく絵画、〈void〉シリーズで知られる作家です。
『描いているイメージに意味を持たせたくない』と彼が述べるように、シリーズに属す作品の、直線の始まりと終わりの位置は、乱数を使って定められ、線を描く作業も機械的に進められています。
しかし作品をよく観ると、線のかすれや滲み、絵具を重ねた色彩の濁りなど、企図されていない微細な要素が画面全体に静かな生動感を生み出していることが分かります。
三浦の絵画は、線と色彩が織りなす空間の響きと、その浅い奥行きの中で、手で描く意味はどこにあるのか、絵画とは何かという、表現そのものへの思索へと導きます。」

“Koga Miura is known for his void series, paintings created by layering straight lines across canvas and other supports.
As he states, ‘I don’t want to assign meaning to the image I’m drawing.’ In accordance with this stance, the starting and ending points of each line are determined using random numbers, and the act of drawing is carried out in a deliberately mechanical manner.
Yet, when you look closely at the works, you begin to notice unintended elements—slight frictions of the line, subtle bleeding, and the murky tones created by layers of pigment—all of which generate a quiet sense of vitality across the surface.
Within the shallow spatial depth woven by lines and colors, Miura’s paintings guide us toward a meditation on the essence of artistic expression itself: What does it mean to draw by hand? What constitutes a painting?”
