1988年京都生まれ。大阪在住。
2011年、京都精華大学デザイン学部ビジュアルデザイン学科イラストレーションコース卒業。

浮世絵をはじめとする過去の美術表現から影響を受けつつ、現代的な感覚を織り込みながら制作を行う。昔と今、時間のつながりや流れをテーマに、繊細な描写と静かな物語性を湛えた作品を展開している。国内外のアートフェアや個展を中心に発表を重ねるほか、作品集『THE VISUAL 巻田はるか作品集 日々の花束』（トゥーヴァージンズ）を刊行。

Born in Kyoto in 1988. Currently based in Osaka.
Graduated in 2011 from the Illustration Course, Department of Visual Design, Faculty of Design at Kyoto Seika University.

Influenced by historical artistic expressions such as ukiyo-e, the artist creates works that incorporate contemporary sensibilities while drawing from traditional aesthetics. Exploring themes of the connection and flow of time between past and present, the artist develops works characterized by delicate depictions and quiet narrative qualities. In addition to exhibiting primarily through solo exhibitions and art fairs in Japan and abroad, the artist has published the art book *THE VISUAL: Haruka Makita Works – Bouquets of Everyday Life* (Two Virgins).
