「水の循環」をテーマに制作しています。

龍のシリーズ、胎児のエコー写真を描いたまだ名前のない子のシリーズ、植物のシリーズを展開しています。

龍のシリーズでは、古来からさまざまな姿で描かれてきた想像上の生き物である龍を、人が捉えた自然の水のかたちとして描いています。

膠の分量の調節、絵具と筆の運び。私にとって日本画材を扱うことは、支持体の上で水分量を動かしていくイメージです。

また描く私の身体もほぼ水でできており、この水に囲まれた世界の中で制作をしています。

  • Artist Statement

    I create my work based on the theme of “the circulation of water.”
    I am developing three series: a dragon series, a series of unnamed children based on fetal ultrasound images, and a plant series.

    In the dragon series, I depict dragons—imaginary creatures that have been portrayed in various forms since ancient times—as human interpretations of the forms of water in nature.

    Adjusting the amount of animal glue, guiding the pigments and the movement of the brush: for me, working with traditional Japanese painting materials is like controlling and moving the moisture across the surface of the support.

    My own body, too, is composed mostly of water, and I create within this world surrounded by water.
